Turn Your Radio On

Hi welcome to my first post!

"Turn Your Radio On" is a monthly playlist of my current obsessions or songs collected in a loose theme. I'll write about design once a month; follow me on Instagram or even better, sign up for my Monthly Mailing List (bottom of this page) for reminders.

The namesake of the playlist comes from John Hartford's intro to his 1971 studio album "Aereo-Plain." Outside of the bluegrass and old-timey music sphere, I think he is totally underrated. You've probably heard his biggest hit, "Gentle On My Mind," most likely Glen Campbell's version, but everyone from Frank Sinatra and Aretha Franklin to Elvis Presley has covered it. He was able to live a full creative life as a musician, folklorist, author, and even a licensed steamboat pilot with the royalties he received from "Gentle On My Mind."

Turn Your Radio On! This month also features a special EcoGrass number by The Country Gentlemen, Kurt Vile, Michael Nesmith, Wednesday, and more. I really enjoyed putting this together. I hope you give this a listen sometime this month and let me know what you think about it!
